The ICC Test rankings have been updated, reflecting significant changes after a week of compelling performances in both Test and T20I cricket. Rishabh Pant of India and Ben Duckett of England are among the biggest movers, reaching career-high positions following their impressive displays in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Headingley.

Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah

Rishabh Pant has made a remarkable leap to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring twin centuries at Headingley. His scores of 134 and 118 in the match made him only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower in 2001, to achieve this feat. Pant is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to surpass 800 rating points in Test history.

Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter, with his fellow countryman Harry Brook holding the second position. India’s Shubman Gill has also climbed up the rankings, moving five places to 20th after his century in the first innings.

ICC Batting Rankings

Jasprit Bumrah, India’s premier fast bowler, continues to hold the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings. His recent five-wicket haul at Headingley further solidifies his dominance in Test cricket. England’s Ben Stokes, contributing effectively with both bat and ball, has risen three places to claim the No. 5 position in the Test all-rounder rankings, his highest ranking in recent months.

ICC Bowling Rankings

In the T20I rankings, the tri-series in Glasgow featuring the Netherlands, Nepal, and Scotland has led to some notable changes. Dutch batter Michael Levitt has jumped 16 places to 14th after a series of consistent performances. Scotland’s Brandon McMullen has also made significant progress, rising 20 spots to joint 38th.

As the ICC rankings continue to serve as an important measure of individual talent and performance, every run and wicket plays a role in shaping the ever-changing landscape of international cricket.
