
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced ticket sales for the Women’s World Cup 2025 on Thursday, September 4. The mega event is all set to start on September 30 and will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will get underway with the opening fixture between India and Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
The ICC has released tickets for all league matches with record-low prices for any ICC global event, at just Rs 100 (approx. USD 1.14) in the first phase. The fan-friendly pricing aims to ensure packed stadiums and enthusiastic crowds as the women’s game continues to grow in stature and global appeal.
To make the event even grander, renowned Indian singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform at the Grand Opening Ceremony in Guwahati, ahead of the curtain-raiser fixture. Ghoshal has also recorded the tournament’s official anthem, ‘Bring it Home,’ and will serenade fans at the venue celebrating the energy, spirit, and unity of women’s cricket on the global stage.
The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 marks the tournament’s return to India after 12 years. The tournament is set to be played across four Indian cities namely, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam and Navi Mumbai, along with Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, India have announced Uma Chetry as a replacement for injured Yastika Bhatia for the three-match ODI series against Australia and the World Cup. Bhatia sustained an injury to her left knee during India’s preparatory camp in Vizag.
