Kajol Gears Up for Big Screen Return in Ajay Devgn's 'Maa' After OTT Debut
This cinematic venture arrives two years after Kajol's OTT debut in The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. During the promotion of The Trial, Kajol playfully suggested putting her husband, Ajay Devgn, on trial.
“I’d put Ajay Devgn on trial and I don't even need to give any reason for it. Being a husband is more than a reason to put him on trial — and knowing him, he will even accept the charges,” the actress joked. This statement quickly gained traction, celebrated by fans who admired the couple's lighthearted banter.
Now, the dynamic duo is reuniting professionally. Maa is anticipated to showcase one of Kajol’s most emotionally resonant performances in recent years. The film narrates the story of a mother navigating personal loss, resilience, and sacrifice. Industry sources indicate that Kajol's role in Maa will highlight her capacity for profound emotional expression.
During the promotional activities for Maa, Kajol admitted her dislike for horror films. "There are so many things in life that scare you naturally. You don't have to watch a movie, basically,” she explained. Despite her personal feelings, the actress is surrounded by family members who are avid horror enthusiasts. “My husband, my son, my nephews — everybody around me loves, loves, loves horror. They watch at least one film every week. Come hell or high water.”
Kajol confessed to watching a few horror classics, but with a unique approach. “I watch these films without sound. Without sound, I’m not that scared,” she revealed. This tactic is likely relatable to many viewers who prefer to mute jump scares while still enjoying the visual elements of the film.
